Your boiler has been condemned — what happens next
Being told your boiler is Immediately Dangerous is alarming, particularly in winter. It's worth knowing exactly what the classification means, what you're entitled to, and how fast a replacement can realistically happen.
ID versus AR
Immediately Dangerous means the appliance is unsafe to use now and will be disconnected with your permission. At Risk means a defect exists that could become dangerous; it is usually turned off pending repair. Both come with a warning notice recording the defect. Neither is a sales tactic — the engineer is required to act on what they find and record it.
