What a proper boiler quote should include
Two quotes hundreds of pounds apart are usually specifying different work, not different profit. Here's the list of items worth checking on every quote you receive, ours included.

Where quotes quietly differ
The common omissions are system cleansing, a magnetic filter, inhibitor, new isolation valves, condensate route work, making good, and removal of the old appliance and packaging. Each is modest alone; together they account for most of the gap between a keen headline price and the final invoice.
Ask for these in writing
- Exact boiler make, model and kW output — not just 'combi boiler'
- System cleanse method, filter make and inhibitor included
- Controls specified by name and how Boiler Plus is satisfied
- Guarantee length, who registers it, and the annual service condition
- Removal, disposal, making good and Building Control notification
Frequently asked
- Should a quote be fixed or estimated?
- Fixed, once a survey has happened. An estimate without a site visit is a guess with your money attached.
- Are deposits normal?
- A materials deposit is common on larger jobs. Never pay the full amount up front.
- What if extra work appears on the day?
- Genuinely unforeseen work should be raised, priced and agreed before it's carried out — never added silently to the invoice.
