Can one thermostat control both?
Not well. Best-practice is a UFH programmable thermostat per zone and a smart room stat for the radiator side, both on the same schedule.
Do I need a heat pump instead?
UFH is heat-pump ready. If you're within 5–7 years of that upgrade, size pipework and emitters now to save later work.
How disruptive is the install?
For an existing system with UFH already in the slab, it's a single-day integration job. New UFH is a much bigger build project.
