A chemical flush circulates a cleaning agent through the existing pump at normal system pressure, breaking down light sludge and scale over a set dwell time before draining. A power flush uses a dedicated high-flow, low-pressure pump to reverse flow through each radiator in turn, physically dislodging heavier deposits that a chemical alone cannot shift. Badly sludged systems usually need both: chemical cleaner first to loosen deposits, then power flushing to carry them out.
