Gas boilers connect to continuous underground supply and need no on-site storage. Oil boilers draw from a tank that has to be sited, bunded where required, and monitored for level, with deliveries planned ahead of cold snaps. Both fuel types are serviced annually by a qualified engineer — Gas Safe for gas, OFTEC for oil — and modern condensing versions of each achieve similar efficiency.
